The winning ticket for the 2017 Kayak drawing was selected on Saturday, June 10, 2017 by LCWA member, Joyce Skinner. Gary Miller, of Honesdale, PA was the proud winner. When President Tom Tallman delivered the kayak to Gary, he was pleased to have won, stating that he "never wins anything". This has now changed his luck. Gary is a member of the LCWA and has been very helpful over the years helping with fundraisers and is always there to lend a hand whenever called upon. Congratulations to our 2017 kayak winner!
Downtown Honesdale's Harvest & Heritage Days were held on Saturday and Sunday, October 7th & 8th. Steampunk Honesdale Sidewalk Sales were held in Downtown Honesdale on Friday and Saturday, July 21-22, 2017. Several items were donated to the LCWA, which allowed the Association to sell chances on the following: A kayak generously discounted by Seaman's Marine of Honesdale, PA; a children's fishing basket donated by Mark & Ellen Wertman; a Wine basket with a $25 Wal-Mart gift card donated by Joyce Skinner; a Roku with extended warranty donated by Kelly Heath; $50 cash donated by Wes and Melissa Carpenter; a Barbeque basket donated by The Dime Bank; and a painted antique window donated by Wendy Johannes/WeJo. LCWA was also the recipient of an anonymous donation (three boxes of men's and women's hats), and with the 90+ degree temperature on Friday and the heat and humidity on Saturday, the sale of hats was a huge hit. Enjoy the pictures below. The total of funds raised from this event are summarized as follows:
